All one must do is show the snake the Dark Mark imprinted on their arm, and if the snake recognizes you, it hisses a welcome, and the door creaks open just enough to let you in. As you enter, you see a huge room. Pillars of crumbling stone, assisted by magic, reach incomprehensibly tall up to the ceiling dozens of feet above. On either side are doors leading elsewhere. A looming spiral staircase riddled with cobwebs slopes upward into where the eye cannot reach. The floor is but smooth stone, thick with grime and dust.

The library consists of shelves upon shelves of books, nearly all about the Dark Arts. On a small, cracked table in the center of the room lies a book entitled "The Time is Nearing". This "closet" which is right next to Xanthos's room is yards and yards wide in each direction. The door is concealed with as great a curse as the manor itself, and if any but Xanthos attempts to enter, they find a most unpleasant surprise. Inside are dangerous artifacts, invaluable weapons, all stored up for the war that Xanthos is preparing. Sometimes he permits others to enter, but that is ever so rarely.
