He listened to the girls talk back and forth about several issues, but eventually his mind concentrated on the waves. In a few minutes that was all he heard, the waves crashing slightly against the beach and the distant buzz of students splashing and laughing in the crystal water. The sun now was beating down upon him, and Griffith was quickly warmed by its rays.
Turning back to the other two Gryffindors, who were still sitting near him, Lee started to speak. "Well if you'll excuse me, I need to take a dip before the sun burns me half to death." Without a second warning, he was up on his feet and walking toward the water. It hit his legs first and felt amazing, the temperature being just right. It was a perfect day.

Chelsea looked up as he dove into the water, raising her eyebrows at the sight of him in the water. The sun beat down on her body, and she could feel her skin darkening - she never burned, just tanned. She sat up a little more, one leg overlapping the other, watching him swim. She nodded at whatever Emma had said and released her hair from it's tight messy bun so it fell around her shoulders. There was a loud whoosh and she looked up to see the Ravenclaw Quidditch team practicing, not so far overhead.
"Hey...I'm just going to swim for a bit," she said to Emma, standing up and brushing off the sand from the backs of her legs, her turquoise bikini surprisingly sandless. She ran towards the water feeling like a little kid running towards the waves, and dove into the cool water, feeling instantly refreshed.

((Are you sure there's sand by the lake? =o I didn't think there was..)) Kory decided to take a break from her routine headmistressly duties, which were quite tiring. She had decided to come down to the lake. It was a beautiful day after all. But she hadn't come dressed in any sort of swimsuit. Her attire was comprised of a tank-top and jean shorts. She looked around at all the people. I'm just like all of you She thought to herself, as someone came up and greeted her by the title of "Professor."
As she walked along she spotted a lone figure sitting, and Kory's friend, Chelsea, running towards the lake. "Hey! What's up Chels?!" She called out, happy to see a very familiar face. She smiled brightly and sat down beside Emma, whom she hadn't met. "Mind if I sit here?" She asked, though she was already sitting she supposed she should ask anyway. "I'm Kory, if you didn't know," She continued. Of course, the whole school knew who she was, but she tended to forget sometimes. Kory found being this popular was not much fun at all and being Headmistress was even less so.

[Meh, we'll give really small rocks the benefit of the doubt.]
Liam finally surfaced in water that was up to his waist, wiping the liquid from his eyes and out of instinct rubbing a hand through his hair to rid it of any foreign substance that might have lodged itself in there. He turned his head just in time to see Chelsea suddenly dive in, forcing a small smile onto Lee's face as he waited for her to surface. When she finally did so he gave a small chuckle and started to speak. "The water was impossible to resist."
When he turned to look toward the shore once more, he was surprised to see the headmistress sitting there next to Emma. Yeah, they had spoken before, and she was even in his year. However, due to the constant work that she was put through, Griffith wasn't sure if he even saw her out of the office she called home.

"Hey!" Chelsea called, waving back to Kory. It was hard for her to remember sometimes that her friend was the headmistress, since they had been friends since before she was made headmistress. She turned to Liam. "I know. It's so warm for fall, it's an Indian summer. I hope it continues, I love it."

Lee looked back at the crystal water, letting the Headmistress enjoy her brief period of rest. Everyone knew it wouldn't last long. The sixth year put his hands back into the cool water and swirled them around, watching the resulting patterns that were produced by doing so. Still, now his shoulders were becoming warm and without warning he just dropped into the water, in a crouching position.
His head was still above the surface, so as a result he was able to hear Chelsea's response. "I'm going to have to agree with you there. I'd take this weather over the winter any day." Besides, in the castle it just became to cold during the winter months. That though was due to its location in England.

Kory noticed that Liam, a student she had spoken to briefly before, seemed to be talking to her friend. "Hey, you're Liam...uh, Lee right?" She called, hoping that she had remembered his name. She had a rather good memory, save for her earlier childhood, which she mysteriously could not remember a thing. She brought her knees up to her chin and closed her eyes a moment, drinking in the sunlight and relaxing against it's warmth. Only a second later did she open her eyes.
The Death Eater attacks were still few and far between, but she had a feeling it was going to get worse. Why couldn't she figure out who was heading them up? Why hadn't they found one single Death Eater yet? Wait, what was she doing? She didn't want to think about this. Blinking a few times to clear her thoughts, she waited for Emma and Liam's reply.

Liam looked over to the shore after hearing his name. He was surprised to see Kory looking at him, and knew right away that it was she who had asked his name, or rather tried to remember it. With a small nod, Griffith spoke up. "Yeah, that's me." He really didn't need to ask her name, but did so for the hell of it. After all, people usually called her Headmistress, so that real name could get lost along the way.
"It's Kory, right?" He was looking at her with a questioning stare, hoping that his guess was right. If not, then would just simply ask her name. Still, after six years he should have known her.

"Yeah," Kory affirmed, knowing full well that he already knew her name, and that everyone else in the wizarding world seemed to. "It's a really nice day," She said, stating the obvious. But she couldn't help saying it out loud. She smiled at Liam. It felt so good to be out here, talking to people her own age.
She stifled a contented yawn and picked up a few rocks, letting them sift between her fingers before looking back up at him.

Lee let out a smile, happy that he got the name right on his first try. Of course he kind of knew it was Kory all along, his parents having strong ties to the wizard world. If they didn't know someone personally, then they at least knew their name. The young man looked at the water for a second after seeing movement near his foot. He just thought it a simple fish and continued to speak.
"It's one of those once and a lifetime fall days." He was still smiling for some reason, part of him feeling stupid for doing so and the other half not caring at all. "The water's actually considerably refreshing." He would have suggested for the Headmistress to take a few minutes for a swim, but wasn't sure if she needed to get back to work.

"Oh I don't mind.So the water really is refreshing"At the moment I'm not in the mood for swimming actually"she said shrugging. She lied back sleepily staring up at the blue sky.She sighed watching the clouds. The water was warm or she thought and it was a great day.She could have only hoped it would stay like this.
In Hogwarts she didn't have many friends and she wished to have more. She thought to her self her mind blurred.

Chelsea tucked her knees to her chest and did a somersault, surfacing with her hair in her face; she dunked down and smoothed it away from her hazel eyes. She popped up and floated on her back. She lowered her feet to the pebbley ground and called to Kory, "Do you have time for a swim?"

Emma sighed folding her hands on her lap.She was in no mood for swimming and was staring to get bored a bit she she just looked out at the water. It was a nice dat and well she would swim unlikely to but she might."Hmm I geuss I'll go in"she said looking at the water.
Standing up she walked over to the water she smiled."So how is the water"she said to Chelsea dipping her foot in it."Ok now I know it's cold"she said to her self walking into the water.Part of the reason it was cold was she was yet to de use to it that and well she was really well in a warm state.
She swam around only hoping to not be splashed.
