For a Headmistress, Kory hadn't been too busy lately. The muggle killings had seemed to disappear, there was not the slightest sign of the appearance of the Dark Lord or his fellow Death Eaters. It was strange, but Kory was certainly not complaining. She wished the Prophecy was a hoax, but it certainly was not. It couldn't be.
She leafed through a book lazily, enjoying her free time. She felt carefree, her worries were gone. Kory felt like her normal self again, felt like before she was forced into the Headmistress position. She smiled slightly to herself. She was sitting in a comfy armchair. It was raining hard outside, but in here it was perfect.
She turned from the book once she heard someone approaching. Kory recognized the girl, but hadn't met her. A Malfoy she was. Kaitlyn Malfoy. Kory knew nearly every student in Hogwarts by name, somehow. She'd never been on very good terms with Kaitlyn's siblings, but she didn't have that much against them.

The blonde's hair was soaked, she had been outside when it started down poring. Of course if it had been her siblings, they would be fuming, not appreciating, the fact that their hair was a mess, or their clothes had been soaked. But not Karlyn, she wasn't almost as far from a Malfoy as you could get. The only similarity between her and the rest was the blonde hair and blue eyes.
As she entered the library after fetching a book from her dorm room, her eyes landed on the Headmistress Kory. Smiling slight;y she decided to head over there, since nobody else had seemed to be around these days.
Taking a seat in a chair beside the girl she smiled, " Hello there, Mind if I join you?" she asked a smile begining to grow on her rose petal lips.

"Nah, I don't mind," Kory said with a shrug. If it had been one of the other Malfoys, Kory probably would have minded, but it seemed like Kaitlyn was different than them. "You're....Kaitlyn, right?" Kory asked hesitantly. She wasn't just going to come out and say something like [Hey Kaitlyn!!/i] 'cause that just might freak her out a bit, considering Kory had never met her before. Nevertheless.
Kory lay her book down and offered a hand for Kaitlyn to shake. Kory was in a good mood and nothing could change that. "OW," Kory said rather loudly, and rather suddenly. Her pet ferret had bit her hand with absolutely no warning whatsoever. Kory was in a bad mood and nothing could change that. She refrained herself from swearing at the bloody ferret and put pressure on her bleeding hand. She didn't have her wand with her unfortunately, so it'd just have to heal on it's own.
"Umm. Sorry about that," She said, giving Kaitlyn a half smile. Kaitlyn was probably thinking Kory was quite insane, as the ferret had been pretty much hidden when he had bit her. Ah well. "It was my ferret," She added, nodding at the stupid thing, which was looking rather mischevious. Kory didn't know a ferret could look mischevious til she'd got this one.

The blonde nodded, "Yeah I'm Kaitlyn" she said softly as she extended her hand to meet the Headmistresses. Then as the Kait had dropped her hand she jumped a bit hearing Kory yell.
She nodded, "A ferret?" she asked an eyebrow raised a bit. She let out a small giggle and shook her head, "Thats different, I've never met many people who have one." she said with a faint smile. "You alright?" she asked a smile growing a bit wider on her rose petal lips.

"Yeah well, they're nasty little things. I don't recommend getting one," Kory advised, still glaring at her ferret, which in turn seemed to glare back at her. "I'm fine," She added, turning back to Kaitlyn and giving her a friendly smile. "So yeah...what year are you in?" Kory asked conversationally, trying to keep an eye on her evil inclined ferret whilst talking to Kaitlyn. [[Shortness very very short...sorry ]]

Kaitlyn couldn't help but let a small giggle escape her rose petal lips. Shaking her head softly she looked at Kory, "I probably would be allowed to get one, family thinks there pesky little creatures, not worth the money" she said with an eye roll. "But thats nothing new, its my family, what would you expect from the Malfoys" she said.
"Sorry, I seem to ramble like that" she said with a small smile her cheeks flushing with a light pink. "Umm, I'm a third year," she said with another small smile and a nod, "Hufflepuff as well" she added, but figured that she knew that much.

"No, you're fine. You don't talk too much. You know who talks too much? The minister of magic. He bores me to death. I swear, I've fallen asleep during one of his little lectures," Kory said, grinning. Noone talked too much compared to the minister of magic. When there was some meeting with her in it he would reprimand, attempt to educate, and just babble on about nothing in particular for hours on end and Kory couldn't get a word in edgewise. It was torture really. The minister of magic didn't like Kory so much. Well good for him. I don't like him either Kory thought to herself.
"Plus, I'll bet you you're thinking I talk too much. Anyway, I'm guessing you're 13 then?" Kory asked, her eyes off her pesky ferret now, which was really a bad idea. "I'm a sixth year," She added, though it probably wasn't necessary. Everyone knew the Headmistress was only sixteen, and many loathed her for that very reason.

Kaitlyn couldn't help but laugh at the statement. Although never meeting the Mister of Magic, she'd seen him before and heard from some of her siblings about him. Nodding softly toward Kora as she bit her bottom lip.
At the next question she nodded once more, "Yeah I'm Thirteen, Fourteen soon" she said with a short shrug. She let the smile reappear on her lips and nodded once more, "Thats really cool, headmistress at 16, I'm guessing" she said her baby blue eyes filling up with curiosity as she looked at the Gryffindor.

Kory shook her head, a bittersweet smile appearing on her face. "No, I hate being Headmistress. The only reason I'm even doing it is because-wow, it's starting to clear up outside isn't it?" Kory had almost given away the secret about the Prophecy. Again. Gosh, she felt so stupid. But thankfully, she had transferred fairly smoothly into the subject of weather. Kory gave Kaitlyn an innocent smile when her ferret hissed loudly in her ear. Having no idea that the ferret was even on her shoulder until now, she winced and then picked him up, holding him in front of her. "Don't ever do that again," She ordered. Now he looked all sad and innocent, and Kory rolled her eyes. She let him go and he scurried off.

Kaitlyn shook her head a bit before looking toward the window. Sure she was no Ravenclaw, but she knew enough that it was something that she wasn't supposed to know, and that she should probably drop the subject.
Smiling slightly she nodded. "Yeah, I'm glad, now I can be outside instead of stuck in the common room" she said with a grin and a roll of her baby blue eyes. The looking toward the ferret she let out a small laugh. "He is pretty cute though" she said with a grin referring to its innocent look.

"Yeah...you like quidditch?" Kory asked, eyes lighting up. She loved quidditch, and used to be Gryffindor seeker, but when she became Headmistress it'd become too much to handle. "And yes, I suppose he is deceivingly cute," Kory said, shaking her head. "But that's only on the outside of course. Really, he's never been like a normal ferret. Anyway..."
Small fireworks suddenly exploded right in front of Kaitlyn. Kory nearly jumped out of her chair in surprise, but instead blinked, confused and then looked around briefly to see who had done it. Troublemakers. She didn't see anyone and looked back to Kaitlyn. "You alright?" She asked, heart beating a little faster than normal. Fireworks. That was really random.
