Searching her pockets for her wand she muttered something to herself. Looking at Kory she said ," I don't have my wand , and my notebook is in my dorm. Maybe next time when we meet up I can show you?"
She was hoping Kory would agree. It wasn't that big of a hassel , well to Dixie it wasn't. Biting on her bottum lip she sighed to herself.[/size]

"Sure," Kory said merely, with a shrug. A calm, cool breeze wafted towards them. It was good to be outside. "So...what have you been doing lately?" She asked curiously. She really needed to get caught up with her friends. Lately she had barely been able to say a simple hi to them, let alone talk or just hang out.

Smirking Dixie replied ," Good question. But yeah. I had to go home for awhile. There is a lot of things going on with my family. And the sad part about it is , it's affecting Panda bear more than me. If you run into her in the hallways , she doesn't snap at you as much."
Looking down at the ground she added ," It's like she is a whole other person. But I know she will come back sooner or later. You have to admit Kory it is funny when she snaps at people for no reason.

Kory nodded a little. It was hard to believe that Pandora wouldn't snap at her. The two were definitely not friends. They had been at one time, but it really hadn't lasted long. "What happened at home?" Kory asked, mentally berating herself for not even knowing that Dixie had left Hogwarts.
"I dunno. I guess it's funny sometimes," Kory said, with an uncertain shrug. "It really depends on who she snaps at," She added, smiling.

Dixie remembered perfectly why she had left. " Well .. our past is pretty dark. You have to understand that we come from a big family. We have 5 sisters. Summer being the oldest and then me. Pan is the most responsable out of all of us. So .. I got a letter say our house burned down."
Taking a deep breath she continued ," This isn't the first time it happened. The last time was when Pandora was little. If you ever took notice that she gets very uncormfortable around fire or anything. She was almost killed in that fire. And when she starts to stare when you are talking to her , she can hear the screaming over and over again."
Dixie was just going to leave everything at that. It was plain and simple. But then she also knew Kory would ask other questions. Taking in a couple more deep breaths she continued ," So. When we left for about two or three days. The fire was when our youngest sister died. That was also the sister that only looked up to Pandora and the only sister Pandora ever talked too. Pan has already cried herself to sleep and I just don't know what to do. She can't be weak right now. We need her to be her strong self."

Kory listened quietly to what Dixie told her. She flinched at some parts. Why hadn't she known this? It bothered her that she had seemed to neglect her friends as she had so many duties to perform. She opened her mouth to say something, but then closed it again, at a complete lack for words. What could she say? One of her best friend's youngest sister had died, died and she had known nothing of it.
Finally, "I'm sorry," she said weakly, looking up at her. For a moment she put an arm around her, giving her a short, kind of side-armed hug. "If there's anything you need me to do, tell me," She said, though she was pretty sure she couldn't be of that much help.

Nodding she said ," Thanks Kory. Just being there for me makes me glad that your my best friend ya know? It's not really me that I'm so worried about. I mean yeah I cried when I found out , but it was only for a couple minutes. Life goes on. But Pan. If you see her , just don't try to mess with her. Even though it's so fun."
Cracking a small smile , Dixie never really understood herself. She cared more about other people then herself. That wasn't like most Slytherin's. Shrugging the thought off she added ," I wonder how everybody else is doing in this school?"

"Yeah, well. I haven't been much of a friend lately," She muttered, angry at herself. "I could try to help out Pan, but I don't think she'd take it very well. We're not exactly on good terms. I wouldn't really know what to do anyway," She said with a shrug. I'm so much help... She thought sarcastically to herself.
Kory noticed that Dixie cared more about others than herself. It was one of the traits Kory admired in her friend. Kory was normally the same way, though she usually didn't notice. "As far as I can tell, the lot of them are doing okay. There's always some who're having it awful, and then there are others who're having the best time here. I think the return of the Death Eaters are getting to people though."

"Yeah well they shouldn't worry about the Deatheaters. I mean sooner or later they might come along and try to destroy the place, but not any time soon. They would be stupid if they did it anytime soon ," Dixie said. of coarse it was stupid. There were still little innocent students still coming in.
Looking around the place she kicked another rock and said ," The Slytherins here I must admit , we have a lot o compition. Everybody is basically thingyy and everything. But the one person that seems to always win no matter what is Pan. She was always the one who always did everything right."

"Yeah," Kory said simply, with a weary sigh. "I don't think they'll make their move for a while yet either. But it'd still be nice to know who I'm trying to find...trying to fight." She said. Trying to lighten the sudden tension in the air, she looked around to make sure noone was watching (they were pretty far from the flowerbeds now) and suddenly disappeared. Or, more precisely, seemed to disappear. Once one looked down however, one could see a red wolf looking up at Dixie, wagging her tail vigorously. Feeling suddenly mischevious, the wolf Kory pawed a large clod of strategically placed dirt up at Dixie.
